Background
p57/Kip 2 (or CDKN 1C) is a tight-binding strong inhibitor of several G1 cycline/Cdk complexes and a negative regulator ofcell proliferation.The gene is a tumor suppressor which is located on chromosome 11p15.5.Mutations in this gene are implicated in sporadic cancers and Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome (BWS). Several types of childhood tumors including Wilms" tumor, adrenocortical carcinoma and rhabdomyosarcoma display a specific loss of maternal 11p15 alleles, suggesting that genomic imprinting plays an important part. This region also contains two other imprinted genes, insulin like growth factor II (IGF II) and H19, both of which seem to be implicated in adrenal neoplasms.
PURIFICATION The mouse IgG is purified by Protein A-Affinity Chromatography according to Isotyping | SPECIFICITY This antibody recognizes human p57 protein. It cross reacts to mouse.The other species was not tested. |
FORMULATION This affinity purified antibody is supplied in sterile Phosphate buffered saline (pH7.2) containing antibody stabilizer. | STORAGE The antibodies are stable for 12 months from date of receipt when stored at –20oC. The antibodies can be stored at 2oC-8oC for one month without detectable loss of activity.Avoid repeated freezing-thawing cycles. |
