Background
Akt [also known as PKB (Protein kinase B) is a family of serine/threonine kinases that plays an important role in signal transduction.There are three known isoforms of Akt in mammalian cells [Akt1 (a), Akt2 (ß) and Akt3 (?)]; Akt is activated by insulin and growth and survival factors. Akt1 is phosphorylated at Thr308 and Ser473. Additionally, Akt has been referred to as an oncogene because it has increased activity in a number of tumors.
PURIFICATION The Rabbit IgG is purified by Epitope Affinity Purification | SPECIFICITY This antibody recognize AKT1 protein without phosphorylation site at Threonine 308. It does not cross react to the phosphorylated AKT1 at Thr308. The antigen motif corresponds to GATMKTFCG in human, rat, mouse, chicken and canis of AKT/PKB proteins |
